2023 Berkhamsted Five Mile Fun Run Schools and Youth Teams (TO BE UPDATED IF REQUIRED)

About the Event

Now coming up to its 40th staging, the Berkhamsted Half Marathon and Five Mile Fun Run has attracted an enthusiastic following, with typically 1200 runners taking on the longer distance and 600 enjoying the Fun Run.

The event is organised by the Berkhamsted Rotary Club. On top of whatever the thousands of runners have raised in personal and team sponsorship, over the years, Rotary has been able to donate more than £250,000 from this event for various charities.

The Five Mile Fun Run is an opportunity for children not only to experience a major well organised event but also to engage with the local community to fundraise for their chosen charities. In 2017 two school groups used the Fun run to raise nearly £15000 in sponsorship for the Teenage Cancer Trust whilst local hospices and youth organisations subsequently received donations from event surpluses.

There will be a £250 cash prize for the School Team with the best aggregate time for four girls and similarly another £250 for the team with the best aggregate time for four boys (see Prizes for details). At the finish a unique medal, banana, 500ml water bottle and cereal bar are presented to each participant.

  • Event Date: Sunday 5th March 2023

  • Start and Finish is at Berkhamsted Cricket Club, Castle Hill, Berkhamsted HP4 1HE .

  • Further details about the event, including route maps, are on our website at www.berkorun.com
